Tualatin Hills Park & Rec District

Tualatin Hills Park Foundation

We are your neighbors. Like you, we have a stake in the future of our community and in preserving our excellent quality of life. It is something we all enjoy and expect. The Tualatin Hills Park Foundation was founded in 1958 to benefit the residents of the Tualatin Hills Park& Recreation District.

Founded in 1955, the Park District offers quality recreation and educational experiences to more than 200,000 children, youth, families - young, middle and senior adults. The Foundation is a publicly supported Oregon nonprofit corporation. We create powerful partnerships with our Friends - local businesses, private foundations, government agencies and people like you who want to guarantee the quality of life we enjoy for generations to come.

Friends of the Foundation?

The Foundation raises funds for capital projects the Park District is unable undertake within a reasonable amount of time. For example, in 2006, we raised $192,000 to build an accessible playground at Camp Rivendale. It would have taken more than a decade under the funding system. The children with disabilities attending Camp Rivendale would be adults by then. Working with our donors, the Foundation was able to make the playground a reality in a year-and-a-half. Before, the children in wheelchairs sat in a ,line watching the others play. Now, children of all abilities play, interact and have fun together.

Our next project is called "Champions Too!" It will be a wonderful baseball field especially designed so children and adults with disabilities can play the game. The master plan for the soon-to-be-named park will be completed in early 2010. In the meantime, the foundation trustees and volunteers are gearing up
for a very exciting fund raising campaign. You can donate today if you like.

Making these kinds of projects possible is where the Foundation, with your support, can make a significant difference - as a member of the Friends of the Tualatin Hills Park Foundation, you will be a catalyst in enhancing and maintaining our unique and extraordinary parks, programs and facilities for the perpetual benefit of our community.
